Interaction Design for the Industrial Designer

Industrial designers are most definetley among the professions and disciplines required in the process of an interaction design project.
I think that in todays society, it is uncommon for interactive design to not be technologically based. There would be engineers and computer programmers involved fully focused on the scientific technology side. These people would not have the knowledge or consideration industrial designers would have in regards to environment, user, usability and context. Things such as gender, cultural perceptions and different cognitiave skills are highly important influences that must be taken into account through design. These highly important factors of any type of design, can only be understood as a bigger picture by Industrial Designers. The designers are the ones who seek out information and research of the target market to comprehend how all of these things contribute and influence a personal user experience. And i think thats what interactive design is all about, user experience.
